Govt School Admission Circular 2027: Admission Test Dates
The government has issued the admission policy for the 2027 session, but the official admission circular with application, lottery and test dates has not been published yet in the sources we checked. This page tracks every notice for government school admission 2027 in Bangladesh, and we update it as soon as the circular is out.
Status box: Policy 2027 issued ✅ · Vacant seat collection: not confirmed · Circular: not published yet · Application: not started · Lottery / test: dates not announced
What is confirmed so far
- The policy is out. The Secondary and Higher Education Division issued the 2027 admission policy on 13 October 2026.
- Class 1 uses a digital lottery. DSHE runs one central lottery, and a child can choose up to 5 schools.
- Class 2 to 9 use written tests against vacant seats: 50 marks for Class 2 to 5 and 100 marks for Class 6 to 9, in Bangla, English and Math.
- Everything is online. Applications, fee payment, results and publishing are online for every government secondary school.
- No admission test for Class 1. The Ministry of Education announced this for 2027 in August 2026.
In March 2026 the education minister had said lottery admission would end and tests would be used for all classes. The final policy keeps the lottery for Class 1, so follow the policy and the circular, not older news.

School admission test dates 2027
The school admission test date is not announced yet. There is no admission test for Class 1, because Class 1 students are chosen by digital lottery. The written test is only for Class 2 to 9: 50 marks in 1 hour for Class 2 to 5, and 100 marks in 2 hours for Class 6 to 9, in Bangla, English and Math. The admission committee fixes the exact date and time before the academic year starts and publishes it in the circular, and the policy says the test should be held on a weekly holiday where possible. We expect the test to be held after 17 December 2026, but this is only our estimate. Check this page for the confirmed school admission test dates 2027 as soon as the circular is published.

Who can apply for government school admission 2027
Any child in Bangladesh can apply for a seat in a government secondary school. The rules depend on the class.
| Class | Who can apply | How the student is selected |
|---|---|---|
| Class 1 | Children aged 5 to 7 on 1 January 2027 (the policy also says 6+ for Class 1). Children with special needs get up to 5 extra years. An online birth registration certificate is a must. | Digital lottery |
| Class 2 to 9 | Students who want a vacant seat in that class. Last year, applicants were students who had finished the previous class at a recognised school, so check the new circular. | Written test in Bangla, English and Math |
| Quota applicants | Freedom fighters’ children, special needs, siblings, twins, Ministry of Education staff, Class 5 passers of independent government primary schools (Class 6), and Dhaka cantonment area students. | Same lottery or test, with reserved seats. Check with the Quota Checker |
| Children of transferred government employees | Can apply to government and non-government secondary schools near the new workplace, within 12 months of the transfer order | Under the transfer rules in the policy |
- A child can choose up to 5 schools for Class 1. Both shifts of a double-shift school count as 2 choices.
- For Class 2 to 9, a student can apply to only 1 school in each cluster if the committee makes clusters.
- Applying twice to the same school cancels all applications to that school.

“Last year’s practice” means it is not in the 2027 policy text, so confirm it in the new circular. Make sure the child’s name, date of birth and parents’ names match the birth certificate exactly.
Admission process step by step

- Open the application portal named in the circular. Last year it was gsa.teletalk.com.bd.

- Upload the photo, review everything, submit, and save the applicant’s copy with the User ID.
- Pay the application fee online. The policy sets a maximum of Tk 110 for Class 1 and Tk 250 for Class 2 to 9. Last year the fee was Tk 100 and was paid by SMS from a Teletalk number. Use the method in the new circular.
- Wait for the lottery (Class 1) or the written test (Class 2 to 9), then check the result.
