Comilla Zilla School is a public boys’ school at Kandirpar in Cumilla, established on 20 July 1837. When it opened it was the only school in the town, which makes it one of the oldest schools in the country. Its alumni include the music director and singer S. D. Burman and the former army chief Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan.
The school teaches in Bangla and offers Classes 5 to 10. It has ranked first many times in the SSC results among schools under the Cumilla education board, which is one reason admission here is competitive.
As a government school, Comilla Zilla School takes new students under the national admission policy, which uses a digital lottery for Class 1 and a written test for Classes 2 to 9. Watch the yearly circular and the vacancy notice to see which classes have open seats. More information is on the school website, czs.edu.bd.
