About Comilla Modern High School
Comilla Modern High School started its academic programme in 1993 and has grown into one of the best-known secondary schools in Cumilla city. It teaches Classes Six to Ten in the Bangla medium and offers Science, Humanities and Business Studies groups for SSC. The school runs two shifts: the morning shift for girls (about 7:00 am to 12:00 noon) and the day shift for boys (about 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm).

Which Classes Usually Take New Students?
Because the school starts at Class Six, the main entry point is Class Six. In some years, a small number of vacant seats are also filled in other classes, most often Class Seven to Nine. The 2027 circular will confirm the classes, shifts and number of seats.

How Admission Usually Works
Comilla Modern High School is a non-government school. For 2027, the government has issued a new admission policy for government secondary schools, but there is no single national circular for non-government schools yet, as we explain in our Non-Govt School Admission Circular 2027 guide. So the school’s own notice will set the process. In general, the steps are:
- The school publishes its admission notice on its notice board, its Facebook page or in the news.
- Parents apply online or collect the form, and pay the application fee.
- Selection is done by a lottery or an admission test, as the notice says.
- The school publishes the merit list and a waiting list.
- Selected students complete admission with the original documents by the given date.

Age Rule for Class Six
Under the government age rules used by most schools, a child for Class Six should be 10 to 12 years old on 1 January 2027 (this is the range in the 2027 government school policy; many non-government schools follow similar rules). The school’s circular will give the exact rule, and age is checked from the online birth registration certificate.
Documents to Prepare Now
- The child’s online birth registration certificate (check that the name and date of birth are correct)
- Recent passport-size colour photos of the child
- Parents’ National ID cards
- Class Five result or progress report and the transfer certificate (TC) from the current school
- A mobile number that you check every day, for SMS updates
How to Prepare Your Child
- Revise the Class Five textbooks, especially Bangla, English and Mathematics, in case the school takes a written test.
- Practise simple timed tests at home.
- Keep your child’s documents in one folder so you can apply quickly when the form opens.
- Apply to one or two other schools in Cumilla as a backup, such as government high schools.
